It’s your choice to flame the oils being released or not. You can also make long and wide spirals for a Crusta or peel the entire fruit into a spiral to make a Horse’s Neck. The blade is sharp and the contoured handle is made of die-cast zinc alloy then chrome plated. It’s 6″ and dishwasher safe.
